Icahn and his band of mercenaries failed to understand why GIS was successful. It wasn't the Sales Teams, the back office support, the core presidents, the local presence alone. It was the combination of all of these working together to understand the needs of the customers in their local markets and providing them with the best service available.
So what do they do? First they screw everyone over by cutting the 401K matches. Then they murder us with atrocious benefits and tell us that it's really a GOOD thing for us. Merit increases? Gone. Then rebadging under the id--ts at HCL who can't even get a conference call to work right. And they did not bother to lock in key personnel. Calling them stupid is an insult to stupid people.
So of course there is a reaction to this. Employees are leaving in droves and finding better paying jobs elsewhere with better benefits and none of these lies. Customers are leaving us. Sales are down. Competitors are mocking us. And no one wants to come work here as they read the reviews on Glassdoor and elsewhere. And the 30+ cores that were close-knit, revenue producing families are now empty shells with declining profits.
Maybe douchebag Johnnie or Icahn would have handled this better if they had a brain in their skulls and had thought this through? Or had taken the time to figure out what made GIS successful for so long? Makes no difference now though. It's dead and gone. They will make their millions selling the c-ap pieces of XRX to some entity that doesn't know better (HP).
