I see so many people hating on Xerox, wanting to leave, as if they don't understand the situation is no better anywhere else. All companies are like this. You might get some variations - maybe slightly better pay, slightly better benefits, but when all is said and done - they all treat their employees like disposable goods.
Bad managers exist everywhere, layoffs exist everywhere. I just hope people who are so quick to leave are not disappointed by what they find on the outside.
This maybe true of Fortune 500 companies but not all. When I tell anyone I know how much our benefits cost and what the deductible was and how cruel the IRIF packages had become, they looked at me like I have 2 heads. I jumped ship after we lost 8 people. I am making about the same as Xerox except my benefits are costing $2,000 less in premiums, I have no high deductible plan, my 401k match is twice as much. I miss out on as much vacation because I started over, but all in all, the world looks a lot rosier than it did with the constant quarterly cuts. Still we cannot continue to let our CEOs sell out America like this. The system is rigged. And we are all just coins in a coin pusher arcade game with more and more falling off the ledge everyday. We need to vote for people that are at least willing to give us healthcare if they're going to sell us out like this.
It used to be a great company the downfall started with Ursula Burns tenure and then the disastrous acquisition of ACS.
Xerox USED to be a great company, this new incompetent team in Norwalk is by far the most unethical, corrupt and devious group I have ever encountered in my career including that prior to Xerox. They have a single minded goal protecting & increasing the value of Ichans investment. Nothing else, not the customers, not the products & services and without a doubt not the employees or other shareholders. That single minded goal will set forth the final downfall of Xerox.
So far everyone I know that has left seems to be quite happy. I loved our core, but Xerox has been the worst company I've ever worked for, hands down. They've made a mess of a formerly successful, stable company (my core).
People who say things like this (the grass is greener) are often the "misery loves company" type. Methinks you doth protest too much.
It IS better at other companies. I know when I leave, I'll definitely try to avoid working for a large corporation like this. I know it will be hard, but I value my sanity too much to do it any other way.
One of my peers just landed a job at a private company. Great benefits, unlimited PTO and a complimentary happy hour on Fridays. So yeah that really sounds terrible.
I've worked in some great companies in my career, Xerox is not one of them!
They are the sleeziest, they do not give two sh--s about any employee, this past month with the rebadging, taking away the 401k match and closing all core sales offices proves the dispicable way the operate!!!
Left on my own accord last year after more than 20 years. Better pay. Better benefits. Much more ethical management team. Could not be happier with my decision. S--- it indeed Xerox!
That could not be any further from the truth. Get you head out of your backside and return to reality. Companies bend over backwards to make their environments great places to work, especially with the job market being so great these days. We can (and many of us are now) do better. So s--- it, XRX.
This is nonsense. Maybe this is true in Rochester with your antiquated skill set.
What’s the point of this post? I know members of Xerox’s leadership have plenty of time on their hands but I wouldn’t think they would post here. Yes, there are worse situations out there but I can promise you there are much better ones too. Almost every non exec employee at GIS (I’d imagine Xerox as well) was making below market wages, the healthcare plan is atrocious, and the sleaziness in how they’ve handled the 401k plans this year is awful. No hyperbole but every colleague that has left my GIS core has gotten a better job in terms of compensation including myself as of today. Don’t trap people with this rhetoric, Xerox is dying and it’s time to get out.
