Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

People are afraid

I’m a 15 year employee and I haven’t seen worse moral, uncertainty, stress, anxiety at my workplace throughout my career than it is now. Layoffs, closures, restructuring… it’s all rubbing off the employees and I’m not sure how long we can take it. Is the same atmosphere at other locations?

Stock at all time highs. Housing prices fully recovered. Boomers, it’s time to retire and let the young guys and gals feel the “misery” of your high salaries and MIPs.

Do these entities management refers to as FTE's or "headcount" actually have feelings? Why would management, at any level, care?

I work in the Olathe R&O shop and although we are not losing our jobs we are all extremely stressed about the move to our site. Wichita R&O was 4x the size of Olathe and Renton R&O was 2x the size of us. Our shop is growing from around 60 techs to over 350 and we don’t know where we are going to find the manpower. I wish they would offer more people from Renton an let Wichita to relocate but they are only offering engineers and managers. Of course Honeywell told all the customers there would be no delay in getting their products repaired and back to them.

I stop by every now and then just to encourage people to take that leap and leave. If you are young then recognize that you don’t have a clue and try other companies before commenting. Honeywell has zero commitment to you .. not a day of vacation time and not one dollar or rupee of pension. If you are mid career then follow me and go to a smaller and healthier environment. Work because you believe in the product. Get a real part of the profit.

Most of the people I know aren't scared, they are drepressed or sick and tired of the c-ap. Or the complete B.S. targets to achieve as goals depress them. And the near retirement people are thrilled. They think they will get severance any day so they work but not that hard, and who can blame them after the pension reductions

Bottom line is for all age groups in all SBGs in all professions, this is no longer a good place to work. Hopefully in the next mega merger that buys Honeywell will toss most of the management

I left after 20+ years. Enough stress and bs during last several to last a lifetime. My doctor thanked me for leaving.

I retired early after 22 years because I just couldn’t stand where the corporate culture had gone. Employees went from being valuable resources to undesirable costs. Disingenuous blather trying to convince us that “our” commitments required sacrifice, while the top laughed all the way to the bank.

Other companies, yes. American corporations, hate American workers. And yet, we foot the bill for all their taxes.....and, no, MAGA has not changed anything.
