Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

The layoffs are rolling, and will continue in small numbers till June

Once the STI is paid out there will be a lot of voluntary departures. Management will need to regroup to assess the damage and then continue the cuts by outsourcing the work and shutting down small business units groups and outsource more of IT & Operations.

The head of HR is gone and the current acting head is AIG's legal counsel. The layoffs are rolling, and will continue in small numbers till June.

The only reason for the above is that Management is refusing to acknowledge that the RIFs are over.

This is not Fake News. More RIF's are in the works. It's nothing but bulll s--- if you believe they are over for 2019. The company is being run into the swamps and BD and Senior Management are making out like they hit the lottery. Mean while all those who are not Management at any level are the ones suffering and being paid peanuts. This ship is sinking and everyone knows it. If you disagree you are just in denial and don't have your eyes and ears wide open.

The RIF dept. head was gone last week. No RIF's other than ones previously planned this week. No more expected this year as decided last week. I told you so to the Fake News accusers. No I'm not BD. He's doing a terrible job just like his predecessor. AIG is still in a lot of trouble. Recent events haven't changed anything. Less business equals less profit. Every AIG employee should read between the lines after the May 13thg Earnings conference call.

You do need to wait until STI payout or you will not receive the bonus; that is unless you were RIF’d. Then you get a payout.

It is my understanding that if you voluntarily terminate your employment before the STI is paid, then you will NOT get the STI.

Take the CRUMBS and get out if you only have a few years. If you have many do a work slowdown. You will find that they don't care.

you really don't need to wait until the STI pmt to leave once you finished the prior calendar year you are entitled to your STI no matter when you leave you don't have to wait for it to be paid so you can leave in January of the following year and still get your STI

Looking forward to giving my notice EOD Friday. Who wants to work for a company that cares so little about their people. Plan on letting my network to stay away from this company. In this market, the only people who will work there is those who have no other options or are a Synergy vendor.

Which is a good thing. They should stop the rif, pay the sti and see the staff movement before deciding. Pretty sure plenty will leave. I come a business unit who has not made losses since the start of business and people are leaving due to the diminishing value of the Aig brand. It's GG for Aig as far as i can tell
