He's in EMEA...
I heard he was retained in another position and given a signing bonus. Any truth to this?
Fred was never a Tech. He was a pipeliner that came over to WIlliams Communications.
this is the most awesome news I have heard in long time > , MR L being a former tech does not trust techs and he is the one who insisted on GPS which some directors used and managers used to harass their employees with amazingly crazy questions.
Maybe you somehow violated the website rules. Posting an insult towards individuals or groups or posting a name or other personally identifiable data usually get's you there.

The real reason Fred is leaving. He was asked to take over the Service assurance group. He declined. Then put his notice in. The rumor about the FCC thing is seriously stupid! Nobody gets fired at his level and the. Gets to stay an additional 2 1/2 weeks. I swear some employees are id--ts!
Lawler got fired after the FCC came down on CTL for outages. Shouldn’t have cancelled all of your contracts with loyal vendors!
Any field technician and probably the engineers all know they cook the books. It has never been a secret. I can remember back in the old United Telephone days, they had themselves in a bind back in the Eastern Group. They went to the Accounting Group and told several of the best at cooking the books that if they could get them out of the mess they were in, they would make them all supervisors.
Well don't you know several of them pulled it off. Then to make sure that they had jobs to put them in, all of a sudden several of the BCSD supervisors were told that they were no longer needed. Going to put the areas all under one guy. One of the residential supervisors was forced to retire.
Nobody in the field at the time knew what was going on and it made no sense to us when all of a sudden we had accountants as business supervisors and residential supervisors. It was only after one of them talked that we found out they were promised supervisor jobs for doing such a good job of cleaning up the books.
I asked how one of these guys in particular ever got a supervisor's job and the VP himself that I was close to told me because the guy was a miracle worker and could make it look like the company was making money when they were in fact losing money, and they needed a guy like him in BCSD.
It has been going on for years. We have all seen it. All kinds of f---ery that they have just never gotten caught at......until now. These guys preach all the unifying principles that floats around on your computer screen when it is asleep but they are the biggest violators. Talk about a bunch of hypocrites.

Rock on out Fred. It ought to be interesting to see if Jeff goes to jail for stock fraud. Interesting article in the papers about a suit filed March 12th against "Certain Directors" at CTL for lying about financials at "critical times" since last March. Hmmmm. Also, interesting to note Glen Post just dumped a sh--pile of his CTL stock. You know it's time to be concerned if he is dumping stock.

Irvin, Lawler, Johnstone, I call that a good start. Many more at that level need to be shown the door, although I don't agree with paying them all that to leave, but at least their poor decisions won't hurt us any further.
Now the next crony who needs a golden parachute that is part of the good ol boy club please step up you don't have to stay long or do anything productive.
