Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Bad Review

Yep got bad review . My manager has to put me down for poor performance because I made statements to management critical of their unfairness regarding employees compensation, RIFs of good employees in 2016, furoughs, pay freezes, while corp spent 5% billion buying back stock , and the corp leaders reaped stock bonuses . Oh yeah , and that free OT weekly expectation . My manager was forced to from higher-ups to stomp on me. First bad review in 30+ years.

Retire. Go into HR on a Friday and announce your retiring affective at COB. They will ask if you've notified your manager to which you tell them they need to to that. Keep in mind it takes about 6 weeks to get your paperwork in order. You have to call One Stop and they can assist you in that, they do not notify your manager or HR. Once you receive paperwork you have 30 days to take action.

I did it and it was so entertaining, I wiped my phone and computer before giving it over to her.

Good luck

My experience matches the OP’s to a tee! The EXACT SAME thing happened to me. If they wanted to get rid of me, it worked!! I turned in my retirement notice at age 57! F--- THIS b---s---!!

So you are probably part of the 6% that your manager was asked to put in elbow, then PIP then destroy you until you leave by yourself without any severance. This is a strategy coming from the top ... this company is just going nowhere. This is question of months before this all will blow up.

In the meantime, do not loose your self confidence, try not to take it personal.

-rxq: severance used to max out at 26 weeks. Are you saying that that has been cut to 13 weeks?

If you've been there 30 years you are old enough to be b^tch slapped by management regardless of your behavior. Start gathering up and bringing home your personal belongings so you won't have a lot to carry out when you are shown the door. The hellacious treatment is only just starting. It s---s to be treated like a no good slug after years of contributions but it happens. Accept it and be ready for what is to come. You'll feel much better when you are finally out of there.

Happened to me when I turned 60 with 13 years of service. I was in the Finance function at a manufacturing site. A common story.

What are you talking about? HPAC is in sync with Honeywell corporate agenda .

Yes well that is HON's policy to calculate a layoff for over age 50 employees of at will employment based on old English law based on capital risk. If you are an American employee that has been doing your job, now all of a sudden you can't do your job after 30+ years and an employee that is 10 years your junior, better yet an off shore, at half the cost is moved into your slot.

Severance in USA was cut in half in 2016 too and your job will not be filled after a year before your internal rated a 1 or 2 block replacement is place in job, so everyone else has to absorb your duties and put in 50+ hours a week and weekends to. Everyone needs to surrender their cash to the Honeywell Political Action Committee to make sure the right judges are paid off in DC.
