Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

I took a significant pay cut to get out. Totally worth it

I took a significant pay cut to get out. Totally worth it. I am happy and enjoy every day. My family enjoys being around me again.

The big surprise was the difference in insurance benefits. My take home pay is nearly the same as before because my new company actually has decent health plans and covers a significant amount, where at DXC I was paying through the nose.

My advice - get out and never look back.

Thought this post paints a good picture how former DXC workers feel about leaving.

Ditto on the health benefits and other benefits. I did end up getting a raise for leaving, but it was magnified with the difference I pay for benefits and the benefits I actually receive. In less than one year, I also received a bonus. Peace of mind and enjoying where I work is a huge bonus and I felt a bit of a culture shock when our CEO talked about trying to help others and having the company get heavily involved in social programs such as stopping human trafficking. My new company actual feels it is important to give money, resources, and time to these type of efforts and makes it a priority. The only social program I felt like I was supporting at DXC was helping to line Mike's pockets and pay for someone to cut his steak.

If "making about the same in a new job" why did you post "I took a significant pay cut to get out." sounds like your making more with profit sharing , better benefits etc...

Yes, way to be. I took VR 2 years ago from that shambles and feel fantastic in mind and spirit. I just feel so sorry for the poor buggers that still have to put up with that rubbish. If you can get out, do so...you will not regret it. It is a sinking ship and will NOT be around for much longer. I still fail to see why the id--tic share holders in this company can't see that the management decisions that are made now and in the past, will see them prosper in the investment they have in DXC in the future! Sad times for a company that was once fun to work at.

I am making about the same in a new job, but have more freedom, travel, better online flex options and annual profit share. Oh and you get valued too and people say words like 'thank you' Imagine!

I regret not getting out early enough. But hey, life is full of regrets. Yet, whenever I see a DXC disaster new story on the web, it is like walking past that big Shawshank Redemption jail building again and wondering if my colleague 'Red' made it out of there and managed to find the tree.

Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'
