Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Layoff process and severance package

What will be the layoff process for impacted employees in HQ US?

Will mgr let employee know or it is HR? How much notice ?

Also, how to estimate severance package? Is this negotiable in some way?

did any one hear of any one being let go? Looks like a normal day at work and no signs of layoffs!

They are as caring and sympathetic as a fatal car crash. Listen for your options and don't waste your breath. The sooner you move on, the better.

Your manager will read a standard script given to him or her from HR/Legal. The managers cannot veer from the script so it will go like this "Budgets have been reviewed, and as a result, your position has been eliminated... You will get a Fedex package that will give you details on how to sign up for COBRA, what your severance package will be, and how to return all Oracle assets. " No "Thank you for your contributions", no "I know this s---s!".. just the script. Your access will be cut off by the end of the day. They don't want really want you around. And your departure from Oracle will actually end up being a blessing in disguise because it is a sinking ship. Better to be in the early layoffs than the later layoffs.

My info is dated but here it is: Usually the manager or othe managers manager will be the one telling the affected employee. There is no negotiation or notice- it’s the same day termination or access will be cut same day with a future end date.
