Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

What’s behind the office closures and moving the jobs to Olathe?

Can’t believe they just decided this. Is there a wider picture behind this? What are the reasons for this big move? I see that a lot of people could be affected.

CEO announced a footprint reduction last year and hid strategy.... I'm on the Aerospace side and in the last 4 months I know Albuquerque, part of Grier, Renton, Wichita, and Coon Rapids all officially announced closure and I don't think that is anywhere near the fifty percent goal. More to come.

Greed?

Olathe is cheap labor compared to other regions.

After being a hospital patient on a respirator for a decade, the Olathe site may just survive for a few more scant years until they figure out a way to close it down, too. It's already a mausoleum. They'll bring in a few more bodies to slowly rot away their careers until they zombiefy.

the town halls last fall warned there was a 50% reduction in footprint across aero, there's something like 80-90 aero sites and they've announced 5 so far. buckle up.

Easier to sell avionics division if it’s under a fewer number of roofs.

It is well published.

A commitment to reduce the number of rooftops.

This isn't over.
