Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Only involuntary layoffs now?

For years, it seems Xerox almost always offered a voluntary reduction in force before the involuntary. It was a good way to reduce the workforce by enticing those who were thinking about doing something new or taking an early retirement package, and not impacting those that really didn't want to leave yet.

Since last summer, I have only hear of involuntary. I have seen nothing where employees were given the choice.

Are the days of voluntary over?

I have a different take on "get out while you can" than poster 3amr. To me it means leave while you still can on your own terms vs those who experienced the shock of getting laid off. It does make a difference emotionally - you can choose your next job while still being employed. The (many) folks I know who chose to leave on their own accord did so with eyes wide open - which I'd had a crystal ball!

"Get out while you can" ha ha. You make it sound like if you keep working their your going to catch some type of virus and die.

If a person is still working at Xerox, keep working hard and give a far days work for your wages and start th about plan B.inking about plan B.

I think now days days everyone no matter your employment status should always have a "What if plan". Things in life can change pretty quick.

If you get laid off, God maybe trying to get you out of your rut and get you moved to the Promised Land. :-)

Unfortunately yes. And don’t be surprised if they attempt to terminate without cause versus involuntary layoff.

There are walking s c u m at Xerox and they have no problem lying and falsifying information. I wish I could say more, but rather I’ll just say you need to stick up for yourself. You will come out on top.

Yes, those days are long gone. They aren’t done laying people off either. Get out while you can.
