Building for sale

Just announced former midwest headquarter building located in LaCrosse Wi is for sale, wonder what will happen to the few employees left? They are being told they plan to lease part of building following sale, and is NOT part of headcount reduction. Of course its not, they are going to say that. I feel bad for everyone loosing their jobs everywhere in this former good company to work for.

Building degradation has been going on since the Qwest Buyout days. Used to travel a lot and the difference from Denver to other locations could be seen, the farther away the worst the maintenance the buildings appeared to have done to them. I am sure that with constant we don't have a budget for that proclamations it continued. They built the new Training Center after Qwest bought US West only to state no more travel allowance to use it. Then Centurylink bough Qwest, sold that and everything else they could in Denver / Colorado area Built a 750 million dollar plus complex in Monroe that is getting more empty daily I hear as everything moves back to L3 in Colorado ummm I mean Centurylink Headquarters Retreat. I expect a sale of Monroe property at some point. Two big and expensive Training facilities built all the money they spent yet we have to beg to get Hot water and Bathrooms fixed.

Also after every take over and buyout/ Merger whatever you want to affix as label they start selling stuff, buildings assets to start recouping money to offset their expenditures, pads the income to make numbers look better.

Then we lease space back from them...…………..

I can agree with most of the buildings and the furnishings in our state are old and filthy. Our work desks are from the sixties tagged with old MS&T inventory stickers still visible. They have the placed cleaned once a week and when I say cleaned I mean just less dirty. Office walls mismatch paint from who knows when... 1970’s? Someone smashed the door to our building during the holidays and we still have the plywood and cardboard with tape holding the shattered glass together and yesterday the lock doesn’t work. Building services has been notified 4 times and still nothing being done. We work with rats and mice trying to gain access inside because of how cold the winter has been. Again exterminators are working on them but it’s an on going problem. The city dump is across the street... if you think I’m joking this is all 100% truth, if I could upload pictures you wouldn’t believe I work for a billion dollar Fortune 500 company. Coming to work is challenging I would never have someone I know meet me at the building because I’m embarrassed to show them “ CenturyLink”. UPS and the postal service both think we are nose diving into uncertainty, the employees who are left only talk about getting surplused. CenturyLink isn’t building into new neighborhoods, our competitors are dominating all the new developments. Homeowners are business owners and we are always trying to defend our reasonings with the public... The only positive is that the check keeps cashing.

Same deal in the old Eastern Group Corporate Center in Carlisle PA. Heard gor years it was quietly for sale and going to close it. Had already closed and sold the Service Center building. People asked.....nope, not true. Guess what? Yup, that's right....everyone layed off and the 40 or 50 left moved out and building shut down and officially for sale.

They quietly got rid of 900+ jobs right under the noses of the town officials and people of the town and showed up one day and removed the company logo from the front of the building and drive in for sale signs. Nobody non the wiser. Now, towns people are asking what happened?

Building was in deplorable condition for a building not that old, because they wouldn't spend any money to upkeep it. We didn't have hot water to wash out hands and they had some sort of rental air conditioners on trucks just to get us thru last summer. Rumor has it they want 7.5mil for it. Be lucky to get 2 million with all the repairs it needs.

We are a slowly dying company.

The people telling them don't even know if what they are saying is true, and if they do of course they are told not to tell. Everything always has to be so secret and dirty.
