Thread regarding SS&C Technologies layoffs

January 2019 COBRA letters

Anyone else receive notices how to apply for COBRA before you have even been laid off and nobody can explain why only some people received them? Really, we're not stupid, just give me my end date then, please...I had hoped that SS&C would handle things better than DST did.

When you least expect it, expect it. Same as it always was.

The letter must be sent by law. If you have received one in the past while at ssnc you wont get another. If you came to ssnc through dst and have insurance under ssnc you will probably receive the letter. If the plan is to lay you off I assure you no letter in the mail is going to correlate to it.

No, did not just join the company and have had company insurance the entire time, though it did changed to the new SS&C insurance instead of DST's. The explanation given was that it was part of an audit and if you had not received one in the past, then the new carrier sent you one this time because of changes in your Flexible Spending Account.

Question- did you just join the company or just start taking company insurance?
