Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

take action

A lot of people got fired and it will continue the next weeks and months. No proper assessment has been made for the lay off. It was just a hasty selfish decision driven by egocentric managers for their own short term profits. Most of the senior managers are not present for more than a couple of years. They are not interested in sustainable growth.

The whole performance process has been manipulated to downgrade 10% of the employees with below expectations to increase pressure on salaries. Employees who are scared don't speak up. Despite employees shared concerns and proved to managemet that open space offices will have a negative impact, Monique and Charlie insist on their decision without having any evidence of advantages.

Monique sends out communication which lacks of details and clarity and the whole working from home assessment is like the performance evaluation rigged. At the same time Monique shares information how to avoid mental health issues even her decision taking is causing them.

Charlie changed the dress code. Again, solely due to his own interest. It is not a secret that Charlie likes his black jeans and to avoid further comments on his dress code, he changed it for all to silence remarks.

For all above mentioned, employees can moan or they can take action by raising these issues to compliance even anonymously. Compliance has to act on it. It will probably not have a huge impact with one complaint but if there are many you make them listen. It's up to you !

I think reducing the Ethics staff by 70% says a lot about BNYM management's priorities, and supports the contentions of many here that the executive team lacks any moral compass.

Send your complaints to the Board of Directors:

Lead Director: Joseph J. Echevarria

Charlie is doing as he wants when he wants. None of the 'executive team' dare to stand up to him, which makes them just as culpable and he wants no input from anyone.. His solution is cut, cut, cut.... in part to pay for big fines due to incompetence and shady practices.

I can't wait to see the next "invested in our people" or something stating how important the employees are to the company" or "act like an owner " nonsense. Pure garbage.

The comment above is correct about Ethics dept. Compliance isn't going to help. Any internal complaints about cuts are going straight into the trash.

You are spot on BUT ironically 5 of 7 in the ethics office were displaced Tuesday, including the manager.
