I worked there for many years. I was laid off myself. No one is guaranteed employment. If someone is upset they can no longer WFH then look for another job. I always felt the company had a good work- life balance.

Many workers quit their current Jobs for better ones in effect firing their companies. No loyalty no morality no ethics toward their old companies necessary or required They go onto better jobs and better lives. Invert the roles and the same rules should apply. As long as separation is done with dignity and respect by each party in either case nothing more should be expected

Not all management is like this. In our department our managers are involved with day to day work. They work just as the associates work.
Upset about Work from Home, of course we're not upset about that! NO!!! Instead, we have self-entitled snowflakes posting blogs on the intranet how "I WANT FREE COFFEE" and reviews of the book Alexander Hamilton. What ever happened to doing work in the company? Is this Charlie's idea of digitization - must have gotten that idea from his new head of digital. Shareholder money being thrown out into the digital world, hoping something might stick, instead it just disappears into the ether.
@ttt If you think there are too many managers that means there are plenty of layers of fat to cut before the desired outcome is achieved.
Too many chiefs. Most of the people around me are managers. Like how many people do you need that don't do any real work on a team? Sorry but being on phone calls all day and maybe typing a few lines into Confluence is not real work. Jeez. All these people are safe though.
