When you are owned by Xerox, you are direct in a sense.

Best way to avoid...don’t sell to Xerox.

Kiss everything you knew before goodbye.

@XQp4SD1-gxg - Why would they bring it in-house to the XBS Channel? Do you have to ask? The answer is $$$! XBS was clearing 15-18% Operating Profit! This is uncommon in our industry. With the recent reduction in office space and overhead, the profit number will only go higher. Sure, there may be some lost revenue due to the changes, but not enough to impact Profit considerably. Selling to independent dealers helps to increase your market share, but operating profit margins on that kind of business are sub 10%, and often sub 5%. Xerox needs some dealers, but you couldn't survive on a majority of your business going through dealers. XBS will pay the bills, pay the big salaries, and will ultimately be the crown jewel to whoever acquires Xerox.

For several years Xerox has been shifting sales from the Direct model to the Dealer/Agent/Partner model. Why would they all of a sudden want to bring GIS/XBS in-house and keep it as a Direct sales path?

Well, some of our locations are still open. So far, we have not outsourced anything. Just the sales and service staff in remote locations are now working from home.

I do agree that closing the locations really hurts the "local" angle. A lot. It's been painful to watch. Our core has been around for over 30 years.
