Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Always in the dark

Good management is honest with employees. BNY Mellon purposely leaves us in the dark about what’s really happening. Don't ignore signals about this. There is no antibiotic for the Scharf virus spreading within our company. That will dictate what you should do next: wait it out or move on immediately?

Maybe that’s the problem: antibiotics don’t work for viruses. We’d need an antiviral. Or, Scharf would need to spread a bacteria. Then maybe the antibiotics might work. Just sayin’.

Agreed. I just turned 31. I'm planning on getting the hell out once I find a position elsewhere that does not involve taking a steep pay cut. I've activated my resume on websites like indeed and Careerbuilder and have actually received quite a few phone calls and emails from employers. It gives me hope that I'm not doomed to this life of misery at bny Mellon forever.

Younger employees should get out ASAP. There is no future with BNY. Those close to retirement should wait it out. Everyone else should update resumes , get them out there and hopefully something better will come along soon. This company will never get better. Good luck to all!
