XBS Reductions: what roles are being cut?

With half of the 189 XBS locations closing, what roles are being cut? Are you seeing changes in administration, HR, IT, Dispatch, Help Desk, etc?

A Printweek Article indicated Xerox had 555 locations and has plans to reduce to 261.

Sales reps are going to work from home virtually, but what is happening to the support and administrative staff within XBS?

No guesses. Real input would be helpful.

Administrative roles within shuttered XBS offices will obviously be affected. AP/AR, billing, dispatch, help-desk, etc shouldn't be impacted in 2019. 2020 will be a different story. Meanwhile, I'm hearing Xerox wants to increase the number of sales reps within XBS by as much as 20%. Sure, many of these sales reps will be virtual employees, but it appears sales teams will actually be growing. Just look at your core job listings. I bet there is a push to hire more sales folks.

Good luck training some foreigner to do my job, haha, I will walk out before I show someone how to do my job so they can give it to someone else, if Xerox thinks their billing is f---ed up now just wait, out jobs can be so complicated and we excel by experience, they will lose customers left and right!

@XIZWkDH-sxp : how reliable is this information? I’m with a XBS Core and we are mostly in the dark about any future changes. Will this management cut and department outsourcing affect the cores, too? Or what’s left of the cores? And, what is the timeline for these changes?

So far, we are in the process of closing about 60% of our locations, but no other changes have been announced.

@XIZWkDH-sxp any word on the timing of these?

This matches what we are seeing within XBS, we do not have those details but that is what it looks like, the timing is the biggest question.

Admin staff will be transferred to the employment of HCL, a BPO and process outsourcing company. They will train HCL on how their jobs are performed, then HCL is offshoring those positions to any number of foreign sites and the employee will be let go. Same for IT, but that will be with Wipro. Webster and Wilsonville are to be shuttered. Much of the Dispatch and Service world is still being designed, but it will be one combined organization and there will surely be additional cuts there too.

Sales will undergo significant changes with comp being the biggest and not in a positive way. What's left of XBS will look nothing like the former GIS did. Oh, and the leadership at the cores will be gutted. Local control and decision making will be taken away. Basically, XBS sites will be Xerox sales offices only.
