Agreed!! Cve pay chqs are great especially relative to amt of work most of us do. Heck, no where else would I be able to stroll In late, leave at four , and have a couple coffee breaks in between the seven hr work day. Don’t rustle the feathers !!

Maybe it is me only but I’m not gonna go else where to get more responsibilities for same pay or less.

To -cou “world class” yes, we are world class as the top 10 worst companies to work for in the world. So don’t insult McDonalds. Also, McDonalds is not hiring, so the mass exodus from world class won’t happen just yet.

To all the self-righteous brown nosers - why haven’t we left yet? Why would we? There’s nowhere to go and it’s fun collecting a really easy paycheck and watching the company’s “leaders” try to navigate. That’s why. The minute there’s options we are out of here.

Blah blah blah. Again CVE attitude. Just shut up and be happy you have a job. That works now in these conditions but the second the market turns around this company will be screwed by the mass exodus for the doors. Let’s not forget about your top ten worst places to work award.

I’m lucky I have a job sure but that doesn’t change the fact that our mgmt are all a bunch of mo--ns. I wouldn’t trust them to get a double double from Tim Hortons never mind our stock.

Frankly, if I was unemployed, I wouldn’t be on this site spending my time arguing with people at a company who were unhappy with their circumstances. I would actually be looking for a job. But then again, everyone posting on this site IS employed...

Great Post. CVE should fire 1/2 of the managers, 2/3 or the directors and 3/4 of the VPs and SVPs.

Cenovus is a world class company. People need to be thankful they are allowed to work here, you could be working at McDonald's cooking fries in your next career.

If you are a manager I applaud you. It’s about time someone told the spoiled ones how truly lucky they are to have a pay check. I’m one that is at home and would rather be working.

I am a manager and want to tell a story. There is an engineer around my team who is highly decorated with educational and professional achievements and didn't feel his ego was being coddled enough so he threatened to leave the company last summer and "warned/gloated" that the team would fail if he left (haha, right). After a short and very unsuccessful job search locally, he hunkered down slightly humbled with his tail between his legs. No, i'm not HR or an executive cheerleader (far from it) but be happy you have a paycheque. Over the last 18 months, I have 36 resumes in my personal e-mail from highly qualified folks looking for work. Bad attitudes are a virus and we are all replaceable and need to remember that (even me).

Sorry, but I don't think HR or mgmt is on here calling names. I believe their posts for the most part are positive and polite.

The rude posts are those that have indulged in too much kool-aid and honestly believe they are something special. There is a belief among some of those who survived the layoffs, that they were not cut because they are special and highly valuable. I have heard this with my own ears, someone actually spoke those words in a meeting. They really have no clue about some of the talent that has been lost.

I hypothesise the age group guilty of the nasty posts are primarily late age millennials.
