Is it true more layoffs are expected either Tuesday or Thursday?

A coworker in Consulting was told of WFR for Friday 12/21. That is soooo evil, right before Christmas.

And DXC is using our vendors for gig economy ( a free market system in which temporary positions are common and organizations contract with independent workers for short-term engagements., in other words contractors, where they don't have to have health or other benefits , and low pay

What I've seen so far from the new vendors contractprs that were hired, is no productive work for weeks

Meanwhile in Australia employees of DXC are being told that their position is no longer required (fits the definition of redundancy) but graduates are taking on the work of those that were made redundant (breaking the law by not disclosing this fact to the government).

A redundancy target is someone typically aged 45+, is ex EDS, typically has 15+ years of service overall, is paid over a particular threshold or is totally incompetent (excludes upper management).

@8hbu Redundancy certainly ISN'T funny for those impacted by it.

Employment law differs significantly between the UK and the US and there are applicable laws around UK redundancy. It is not quite as simple as the dictionary definition of the word "redundancy", and DXC has to obey the law in this area, which it does - just...

How do we do voluntary redundancy in the US? Is there even any severance? If so, can I wait until January 2nd to volunteer?

"redundancy": you UK people are so funny! In the US your fired plain and simple. The word "redundancy" means "the state of being no longer employed because there is no more work available." and we know that's bull sh*T

FIGHT back post on this and other sites that ML is a POS person, as bad as our id--t in chief tRUMP.

FIGHT for the right!

@WysXozj-5jeh yes, all volunteers are evaluated even if they are not in a pool.

It's probably a good idea to make your manager (or their manager) aware that you are serious about taking VR and not just registering to make a point or to see what the offer would be.

If you're not in a pool, they may have to justify why they can let you go (and possibly keep someone who IS in a pool), so they won't bother going to the trouble if they think you'll just turn down the offer.

Better chance of being made redundant by p1ssing off the manager or someone high up the food chain. For example asking management to justify why Mikey's compensation package is ethically sound when decent yet hardworking employees are being used as slaves just to meet unachievable monthly or quarterly financials. Also perhaps ask the manager to justify why they cannot provide a market-based pay increase and then escalate to the hilt.

I am so glad to have left Club Toxic.

If a person volunteers for redundancy but they are not on the list manager would have selected does that person have any chance of getting their wish?

Amid the recent decline in DXC's share price, hedge fund investment in DXC has continued to fall since 2017 Q4 and most notably this took a nose-dive following the last DXC quarterly investor meeting. This knocked DXC out of the top 30 hede-fund portfolio investment choices to the bottom of the top 50. Many wouldn't have noticed. So why care?

Hedge funds are shrewd in their choice of investments and people take notice of their movements as they have always made double-digit profits since 1999-2016. With the exodus of these from DXC, some other big names have followed suit: Orbis Investment dumped 700 funds in DXC, followed by. Hunt Lane Capital who also dumped $50m. Although this doesn't diminish the majority of those still "holding"; the high Zak rating for momentum or analysts still indicating that they feel the shares continue to be undervalued, it is a good sign that the 'good times' may be coming to an end. Although not so good for the 20,000 staff who have lost their jobs since DXC's incpetion in April 2017.

The immediate future doesn't look too promising for DXC, with $300M worth of headwinds about to hit it from rising interest costs and a slow ramp up in digital contracts.

Will shareholders demand a stronger digital strategy that can expediate the growth of its digital portfolio faster than its legacy decline? Given the history on this one, it is far more likely that investors will continue to wait this one out and allow DXC to continue on its relentless cost-cutting path, removing the very core of its delivery far beyond what the IT press believe is necessary to sustain it and could end up hurting the very core of its customer base that DXC relies upon to help it build a solid digital foundation for its (long-awaited) digital growth.

The company does not give a stuff about who and the numbers of folks that are WFR'd. The most important outcome is the size of Mikey's bonus.

Well one thing for sure with the latest reorganization people will be losing jobs with DXC. One thing that doesn't make a lot of sense. Why would a company tell an employee you either start working for a vendor or have no job/relationship with DXC and then contact that same person back to do what they were doing as an employee?

Makes no sense to me. I was lucky enough to be part of a WFR months ago and have already landed a much better paying job with less bull cr*p and less stress.

Stock price is almost as low as the initial price when the company started. When will the stock holders wake up and fire the CEO. (with no golden parachute)

The only people safe in DXC are Mikey and the bloke who publishes the twice-daily Linked-In bollocks advertisement for non-existent services.

Guys, DXC is a global company operating in many regions and countries. It can be helpful if you provide some sort of location info in your questions or other posts!

Ask as it is, the answer to your question is yes.. but it may not be valid for your location
