I have it from good sources that there were a small number of layoffs this week, but only in some groups. I also hear there will be some more early next year.
There is also a fair amount of attrition....maybe greater than the layoff numbers.
For now management's strategy seems to be getting 5-10% from layoffs and an equal amount from attrition...it adds up over time.
Don't bother checking the WARN stats....It's always updated after the fact because of the nature of the severance package. It's never a problem to meet the 60 day notice requirement.
Sad to see the anguish this is causing so many.
