Need more layoffs from BS custom IP team that is a collection of useless vp, dir, sr dir, and engineers. They are far behind industry standard.
Sure sure,custom ip team is bs while the wonderful head nodding counterparts in bdc are so good. Those id--ts know nothing except to dial into any meeting thats on their calendar.
All SERDES issues in snapdragon 855 were created by BS custom IP team. Most of them are safe. What a shame?

What I heard is more lay off in multimedia in next Quarter. Outsourcing everything to India
Yes Layoffs AY Multimedia. Was told this was the last day to notify affected employees. Ironic thing is there are literally entry level jobs externally available for all multimedia teams. They are definitely not saving money in the short term by firing people who have been there a while and hiring some newbie.
It looks like on internal transition site if you get rehired back at Qualcomm through an externally available opening you don't have to pay your severance back and since you got laid off you get to keep your tenure. We should all probably just keep getting rehired on teams that we think are going down so we can just keep getting big severance pay outs till Qualcomm figures out how to run the company properly.

I have it from good sources that there were a small number of layoffs this week, but only in some groups. I also hear there will be some more early next year.
There is also a fair amount of attrition....maybe greater than the layoff numbers.
For now management's strategy seems to be getting 5-10% from layoffs and an equal amount from attrition...it adds up over time.
Don't bother checking the WARN stats....It's always updated after the fact because of the nature of the severance package. It's never a problem to meet the 60 day notice requirement.
Sad to see the anguish this is causing so many.
Next WARN out on Monday.............keep all eyes out on corridors of doom and halls of frantic.

No new layoffs here other than the obvious , which we all know. In short, no RIF's all rumors.

you don’t hear of the layoffs because Q has stopped doing publicly-announced mass-layoffs that attract bad press and political fallout like the recent GM layoffs. Q now does unannounced rolling layoffs of smaller numbers through the different departments each month that stays under the radar of California WARN filings and the press.

Yes. Custom IP teams since lot of work is being done by samsung. Eventually only thing Q will do is to do place n route and and charge license fee. Apple will then take away the license model and samsung will buy any sc-aps left over. RIP Q
