Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

No relocation?

Since Honeywell is getting major incentives to bring not just HQ to North Carolina but the jobs that go with it, does that mean that no relocation will be available for current employees?

What I'm getting from all of this is that pretty much everybody at HQ (except for the top tier) are about to be laid off. Am I wrong?

Read Severance in HR Direct closely. If they move your role and you refuse to move they do not need to pay severance

Go into HR Direct and search for Severance and read the policy closely

One line says if role is relocating and you don't move = no severance

Relocation to Charolette is being offered. You can see the different levels of move payments under HR Direct. It's a bit buried but it's in there in the sub menus on left side. At least for USA employees

Levels are "Executive" which is considered enhanced and 3,2,1 each with less costs covered

First round draftees have until February to decide to move or not or be fired without severance

Yes that's right - No Severance

Honeywell wants a "mobile" workforce, translation - everyone is contract employee except the very top. Hire contract workers when work is to be done, get rid of them when the work is finished, no severance, no vaca, no Holiday - take a day off, don't get paid. (Or something close) Open seating - no assigned cubes - smaller footprint (only 75% of employees at work at anyone time) Remember, anyone can do anything. (Because Hon has this great HOS system) Every move is to purge some Hon badges.

A story in Dec 1 Bergen (NJ) Record says 800 jobs will stay in Morris Plains. 150 to 200 senior management positions in NJ will relocate to Charlotte. So Honeywell will still get the $40 million from NJ spread out over 10 years.

Does anyone know how any ex-Morristown aero/defense people are still in Morris Plains?

No, you're probably correct. Always remember that HON is always looking to replace US workers with literally anyone else as long as it means more money for the board and more shareholder value. The new mentality is: drive out talent because they earn too much. Replace them with millennials who are just happy to be working, or Indians in Indiar because they can exploit them for low wages.
