An email went out company wide stating that all employees below director will get $1000 bonus on 12/14.

I commented that I thought people would still get their bonus if let go on Dec 10th. But I agree with the person who said the status change may disqualify you. Thanks for pointing that out. I didn’t realize that. Helpful info!

Why do we think we’re getting a bonus? Where is this info coming from? Is this for every molina employee or department based? (Repost)

Geez, Molina really makes you grab your ankles on the way out if this is true. It’s like merry-Xmas, your RIFd’ out — then status change you - and you find yourself reaching for the lube again! Wow, definitely a different company these days....

I believe your right about being left on the books- but my understanding from previous layoffs is that if your on the books- but you have a “status” change due to being part of of a lay-off- you get zero. So 99% chance you won’t get it. Basically, your on the books but you don’t qualify if it happens before the bonus date.

Good point, about bonuses. Of course, the company is under no obligation to give anyone a bonus. They are obligated to give them a 60 day warning of a lay off. So if notification of lay off is December 10th, there’s a good change the person will get the bonus. You’re right. Keep in mind, the bonus isn’t huge. It makes the company look good to give it yet it costs very little.

It will be interesting to see how the bonuses work if there is a layoff on December 10. It seems that a lot of people laid off have been kept on the payroll for two months, something to do with the WARN notice (or maybe if one wasn’t filed). If that is the case, they would still be “employed” and will receive the bonus.
