If you don’t think lay offs are coming you’re not paying attention. The mgmt here will save themselves and sacrifice the rest of us without a moments hesitation. Then who’s ever left gets to hear the same old spewing garbage about the hard decisions and we don’t do this lightly etc etc. And then give themselves bonuses for hitting the G&A reduction targets.

You guys are as messed up as COP Canada was. All they do is move the big wigs around giving them whatever title seems necessary.
I love how they say we are in dire straights and yet when they let go of one VP from SCM they don’t try and join a role or find an efficiency, oh no they promote the workplace and real estate person from director to VP of supply chain and another mgr to director to replace her. And to be clear this is the person who was directing our real estate portfolio. Let that sink in for a minute. How is our real estate doing????
Layoffs this coming week by the way, heard it at our mgmt meeting.
Even some of the directors are leaving now. And you know if they’re leaving the cushy jobs they have we are all in trouble.
There will be layoffs. With the budget going in, the functions were asked to cut. The easiest thing for the unimaginative, poorly skilled vps to do is cut people. And so they will in the next while. And they will target those who have taken leave, are returning from a mat leave (not that there are many women left), and those who don’t look and think exactly like they want them to. Are you too smart? Are you not good at a-- kissing? Are you not part of the old boys club?
Don’t blame AlPo. He’s had little to work with on the CLT. Until he has replacements in the queue, he can’t get rid of the CLT and the operations DR’s. That whole group needs to be replaced. Their ineptedness at execution is astounding. With little to no experience outside of CVE, they are the product of their own incompetence. The sooner they clean out that level, the better.
But don’t be sad. Better to get off a sinking ship while they can still severance you than when there’s no money left.
People wouldn’t be on this site if they thought there wouldn’t be a layoff.
