Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

There are other companies that value experienced workers

Job market is good now. I got RIF'd and found an even better job / pay. YOU CAN DO IT TOO. Hang in there, tap your contacts/network and keep records. There are other companies who value experienced workers for what they bring to the table that a younger work force simply hasn't experienced yet. This is more of a new beginning than an end.

What @WgYzmNg-bmj said. People need to realize how valuable their knowledge and experience really are. There are companies out there that will be ecstatic to add you to their workforce.

Yes. Agree, just waiting to be RIFFED. They ought to add that to the list of AIG acronyms. Updated LinkedIn and my resume.

I think someone may acquire part of AIG or maybe all of it and cut half the staff. If it keeps dropping, someone is going to buy a stake and start squeezing management. How so many leaders get paid so well to perform so poorly is beyond me.

1 years @BigShip = 7 years elsewhere is Over-The-Top...

By that standard, what should BD get for that? 154 years?

LMAO!

Competition wants talent. That's what they will go after.

If nothing else, just squirrelling away the talent (not 'executives') can result in a complete downward spiral at any company. The All International Game is no different. Competition will love to buy the company at a steep discount.

It's simple!

One headhunter told me that 1 year’s experience working at AIG is worth 7 years at any other carrier. We all know that’s true and why.

There are headhunters that are trying to get some AIG employees now as they are bringing on the new business that AIG should have had.
