As long as you do the Manager's personal work, your ratings will be good. Even if it as small as buying him a c-gare--e everyday.
I have seen hard working professionals sidelined since they were not a55 licking

So many idle managers in "middle management" just to prop up ML and his HR GF. Without these important and precious people ML would have no grounds to find incompetent people to protect and sack competent managers.
i might add, just stop working...
The managers are just dumping work on the employees while it lasts.
And eating the fruits of the slavery !!!
... Just don't let it happen !!!
Why bother? No raises, no bonuses... It just doesn't matter. Boycott the process.
Not really sure why DXC keeps so many idle managers at a time when they are trying to reduce costs.
.any guesses.. ?
Always a totally pointless and demoralising exercise. It was the only time anyone heard from or interacted with their manger in our account, it was like we didn’t exist for 11 months of the year, and then we were hounded (while doing work they knew nothing about) to complete the most awful, tick box exercise ever dreamed up.
Goal setting at HP/HPE and DXC is and always has been a lot of w@nk. Nobody above pleb level gives a stuff yet they receive generous bonuses for achieving diddly squat.
My new company does the same. But its a lot quicker and a simple 1 page form on-screen and they don't make a big thing about it. The DXC one went on for months and had layers of reviews, stats and bell ends (oh wait, it could be curves?)
Goal setting in DXC ? - a travesty. It is getting done to make employees fool. The managers would set your goal such way that reading those you would feel you need to make a satellite in the next one year :-) … those who can bootlick, they achieve 'all the goals', otherwise how talented and dedicated one is - 'he/she will miss a few goals' by the year end. This is the truth.
Goal setting is a waste of everyone’s time. You exceed your goals or you don’t make them the pay increase is the same. A BIG zero!
Not just the goal setting exercise - the whole appraisal system is a box-ticking exercise.
Sadly, this is one of those things about DXC that ISN'T better elsewhere amongst the large, US-based IT corporates...
