Well, yes, in fact CO trouble DID cause trouble nationwide. The piece of equipment that is in trouble resides in the CO. Yes, that's right - still in trouble. No hack, no disgruntled employee, no virus. When i see what their "official" word is, I may have further comment once it's fixed.
I m pretty sure it is caused by a disgruntled laid off employee ......how does one infinera Node impact the entire network by broadcasting garbage ? ,,, genius ...

If you are a CenturyLink customer experiencing issues with your internet, get used to it because we don't give a sh-- about our customers. We make sure to provide subpar service at inflated prices in areas with little or no internet service alternatives. If you don't like it, tough sh--.

Certainly sounds like a DDoS. Also sounds like the sort of thing that COULD have been triggered by disgruntled former techs or IT folks. And CTL has certainly made plenty of those lately.
Either way, hope this gets fixed quickly.
This doesn’t help our image or gather us any more business. Who knows what exactly happened, but the one thing I can tell you it’s not do to being over staffed... LOL
Anymore contractors are the first to be called out for outages, we've lost so much experience and knowledge the last few years within the company.
