Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Could you make it if YOU lost 2.3% of your Income?

If Xerox folded tomorrow and Carl Icahn lost EVERYTHING he invested in Xerox up to date, you know how much of his total investment portfolio would be lost?

Answer: 2.3%

Out of the 19 companies he is invested in, Xerox ranks #8 on the list in terms of total value. The first 7 investments make up 88% of his portfolio. He probably only cares about the top 5 Investments (which make up 80% of his portfolio)

To provide some context here: With Xerox making up a whopping 2.3% of his investment portfolio, he still owns nearly 11% of Xerox.

Xerox is a MINOR play for him. If it works out, GREAT. But, if he sells off all his Xerox stock tomorrow, I think he'll be ok. Would you be OK if you lost 2.3% of your income? If he took a 50% loss on the stock, he'd lose 1.15% of his portfolio value.

There is a sentiment on this thread hoping that Icahn "fails" with Xerox and "loses all his money". It simply isn't going to happen. Xerox is peanuts.

Icahn thought he could get a QUICK BUCK by getting in on Xerox and then quickly turning around and selling it to HP or Apollo Global Management (Private Equity Firm). Well, both those options fell through. So, he put John V in place to clean up the mess as best he can, but in the long run...Icahn forgot about his Xerox Investment 9 months ago.

How much time would you dedicate to 2.3% of your own personal investment?

I lost 4x that in the last couple of weeks because of the Trumpster's mo--nic statements and involvement in everything he claims to know so much about, so much more than anyone else. But I will survive. There are some that won't. And they should be aware rather than followers of the ignorant.

Xerox should start saving money like for these failed projects to take over at least the severance packages to pay off personnel. It will have a hard time recovering from spending money like this.. instead of investing it at least to cover its employees in its downfall. Which again, it’s obvious today it won’t make the cut as a company for much longer..

Laziness promoted by benchwarmers that integrate failed “projects” which just promote this pattern within the company due to the lack of interest of understanding the purpose of these so called projects and disregarding any actual facts and results which are obviously reflected due to this laziness and lack of interest of any head of the teams down to the same old teams getting that check for their screw up and zero contribution as you mention. As long as they keep on promoting projects and listening to managers to sustain failed projects specially offshore.. there won’t be any improvement for this company investing in people that just get paid to show up and leave; specially when they get support from management reflecting their actual lack of performance. Wake up Xerox and keep the people who have been around enough to support the company and chop the heads of people whom you already know.. need to go with these so called results of teams that have been supported internally by us to get their job done and through. They have become “deadweight” for the company and so have the promoters to keep them going as successful investment when we all know the truth.

Culture of laziness at Xerox? Huh. News to me. Not In the field or what is little is left of it.

This is great information, and should be a good reminder to those left that there is no way to "stick it to Icahn" or anything like that. He's a billionaire whether Xrx falls or remains.

What does this mean? It means do your best work, come in and put in your best effort everyday, and if you aren't willing to do that then leave. The only people you can possibly hurt by being lazy, doing shoddy work, or taking home a paycheck without making a meaningful contribution is yourself and your coworkers. You can't touch Icahn or Deason, or even John V.

Too much laziness at Xerox. If you aren't in, then get out; you're just developing bad habits and hurting your teams by dragging them down.
