Oracle's Lost Decade in App Development

Tried to log into Fusion Applications. They are down AGAIN this weekend. What decade is this? Why would anyone use our apps when we can't even keep them running? We never had trouble running EBS 24/7. No wonder app revenue growth stopped soon after we diverted all of our money and resources to SM's team. How did he spend 10 years and all that money only to build something WORSE than what we had before? I don't think I could do a worse job if I tried. SM has killed our app business.

FA is so bad, I don’t know what’s worse, when it’s down and I can’t use it, or when it’s up and I have no excuse to avoid using it. Literally ANYTHING would be a better to run our business on.

I think the blame for this has to lie with TK. Sure there were others involved but he was the golden child running all this and what came out of the development organization - even though a lot of it was through acquisition and then poorly cobbled together - was garbage. Anything developed from scratch was garbage. UI's were a mess and unusable, code is buggy, components don't integrate well, installation, configuration, and tuning is difficult, it all just seems unnecessarily and overly complex. I really feel bad for Google and I hope they don't waste too much time with him.

We recently switched over to using Fusion from GSI and as of now it’s the biggest pain. Nothing is right with Fusion, error after error. Absolutely useless.

TK’s great achievement, Fusion apps is. Only takes one incompetent exec and, well maybe 2 TK & SM, and a clueless Board to run a company into the ground.

And guess what, they did it. Oracle is dead, dead, like a rock.
