Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Process Improvement

There have been a lot of process improvements that some would equate to a need for lower headcount, but for most, those changes have just made a very long a day little more tolerable. Regardless of what anyone thinks, this is a relationship business and reductions there would be front and center for our agency partners to see. A big black eye and certainly not "under the radar" as most other cuts appear to have been.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see if more IT including Citrix teams get moved over to the other side of the world too. More cost saving support!

Senior managers are worse in many ways. They have riffed many. But wait until April, then you're going to see an exodus of folks they'd rather not lose. The atmosphere is poisonous. Every single person I know well there is actively looking. I am sure senior leaders will get their long term comp though.

Managers that sit in their offices all day chatting and laughing with each other not doing any work or following what their employees are doing. When rif time comes, they pick the ones they don't like to go. Yet, their "friends" who also b s all day get to stay. Not a one of them knows how to manage, if you're their buddy, you stay.

I haven't seen any useful improvements. All I have seen is RIF's and other employees have to pick up the extra work, and it's not the managers that are helping either.

No useful process improvements have been made. I know, I manage process. Management and low level managers are useless.
