Thread regarding Sears layoffs

@WASkDS8-4lmr Thanks for the support. I was already on my way out so even after my store was closing it was a good timing (atleast I kind of estimated). I also did research which said that unemployment should be good for me since I am working a lot of hours this last quarter.

It just bummed me out that I could of been doing OT a while back, but the managers as I said were asses now they don't care because we are about to close the store officially in less than a month from now. I been working very hard since I will be on a nice sweet break still on my other job process.

4pry, work as much as you can, especially once Jan 1st hits because that a fresh start for annual income. In my state unemployment is based on what you make (probably everywhere like this) so your helping yourself in a multitude of ways.

You'll find another job. There is something out there for you.

@WASkDS8-4aou We are in LQ we got a cool LQ person that is in charge and this just week I was notified that we can do OT. What kind of bummed me out I wish they would of let us do it a while ago, but the big problem was once again management being a bunch of asses wouldn't allow that. They had a lot of seasonal and also hired a few more people.

I really wished they would of allowed OT since the start I would of been banking as of now. I been pretty much working my 40 and just now a bit OT since I will soon be without a job.

@1rmw That's weird, that wasn't how mine was at all when we liquidated last spring. Liquidator encouraged our managers to get temp workers in there, but luckily they were resistant and wanted us to be able to have all the hours we wanted. There really wasn't a limit anymore.

My store closed this holidays, but I was also wondering how it would of been our minimum wage was going up so that was even more of a reason to cut hours. I think if it would of gone for another round all the FT would get their 30 and any left over to part timers.

@zbg Not at all liquidating stores. Hours were a big issue when our store closed. They actually cut the hours of myself and everyone else who was hourly and left the commissioned sales staff hours the same and did not increase them. I overheard the "Liquidator Consultant" tell our store manager he wanted to make as much money as he possibly could and the best way was to cut hours and make people work harder. Great guy huh?

Go to any store. Only 1 register a floor with only 1 working.

Although some id--t DM’s have shut down entire registers on a floor. So that you have to ring up downstairs.

You are wrong every store will have more hours than they can use. When all the remaining stores liquidate hours are not an issue.
