Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

More info on outsourcing rumors

Apparently all of SMB and ERC (except for the Elite NOC) will be getting outsourced. Transport is getting outsourced to Mexico and Voice to India. I haven't heard about where ERC and SMB Data will be outsourced. I believe ERA is getting outsourced to the Dominican Republic. I've heard that management quietly offered training positions to a few people in ERC to sign NDAs, go overseas, and train their replacements. Obviously, this backfired and some of the techs who were offered this role told other people in the ERC about it before giving their two weeks' notice.

Repair is a trial by fire in many ways. My advice to anyone still in Repair is to learn as much as possible and use that knowledge to transition to something different, whether inside or outside of Windstream. Otherwise you will increasingly been asked to do more than less. Modern corporate culture in America makes just about anyone below the top executives expendable, but this is especially true in Repair. If you're already an asset to Repair then get out now. You've got to look out for yourself.

Bumped from @VljxNe7-ftu for important info.

In the leaderships infinite wisdom they think they can push people into more work. They tell us a lot of companies do it yet they want us to separate ourselves from the others. When I get a call from the answer teams I can barely understand them. The tickets they open up barely make sense. If us a repair technicians have poor experiences with the new outaourcef cheaper versions of the answer team not sure how our customers will take to it. They keep saying be patient change is coming. Sure it is. Our jobs will be outsourced too.

Until TT and his buddies are outsourced, the same clueless business decisions will continue to be made. Most of the VP work can be automated, don't really need a human anymore for the 'work' that these clowns do, and the AI that replaces the VP's can actually make smarter decisions, and not take trips overseas. AI can replace all the executives - even up to TT himself, let's do it and see the turnaround!

All I can say is good, maybe they will be able to train them to open up tickets correctly instead of making the nocs go on a scavenger hunt each time they escalate a problem.

They have tried to outsource several groups in the past and Everytime have failed horribly. Much like automation it sounds really good to blow up the VPs A$$ but at the end of the day all your left with is your D!ck in your hand and nothing to show for it...

These clowns do everything wrong, they outsource to save a $1 but are only willing to spend 0.13$ per the $1 saved rather then spending the .55$ per the $1 for good Indian tech support (what? good people are not cheap... Even in 3rd world hell holes? GTFO) they will go bottom of the barrel and fall right on there faces... Yesterdays IRS scammers are tomorrows ERC, great job dip $hits... Hope they fire all these dump b--tards before the company finally gives out. Either way... It's too little too late.
