Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

How Does Bruce Broussard’s Compensation Compare With Similar Sized Companies?

According to our data, Humana Inc has a market capitalization of US$43.8b, and pays its CEO total annual compensation worth US$20m. That’s just a smallish increase of 0.2% on last year. When we examined a group of companies with market caps over US$8.0b, we found that their median CEO compensation was US$11m.

As you can see, Bruce Broussard is paid more than the median CEO pay at large companies, in the same market. However, this does not necessarily mean Humana Inc is paying too much...... yeah right. How about we cut Mr Broussard's paycheck by 10 or 12 mil and forget about lay offs. Is Humana laying off people in order to fund Mr Broussard's joie de vivre. No wonder he's always smitling

Given Humana's obsession with surveillance why is the concept of the department paid informant so implausible? I would certainly not count it out. Every single movement, key stroke or breath of an employee's Humana work day is either monitored, recorded or audited. The role of paid informant fits right into the Humana total surveillance package. It is however, just not discussed. Electronic surveillance can only accomplish so much. There are persons in every Humana department who fulfill the informant role in exchange for favors. Have you noticed that these are the people who get the special treatment, the PTO, that cushy job, or someone else's job - etc.

It’s not odd the president of a huge company is compensated as leaders are compensated.

To the poster who said “you will”, was that in reference to the incentive or a raise? We were told no raises, just incentives.

To the person who started this thread ....get over yourself.

Thanks for straightening me out. However, doesn't anyone think that its odd that he makes so much money. I thought there might be something crooked about it. Obviously, nothing to see here. I think its great the way he's hooked Humana up with the Phillipines. Such a lovely country.- and they know so much about US health care. Its so kind of them to help us out here in the US and remove some of this work. Here's to Bruce Broosard, truly a health care missionary/visionary...... Bless you Mr Broosard

Raises and the incentive pay are two different things. I’ve not heard anything about not getting raises this year.

Hey, the way I see it, at this point since I’m. It laid off yet, I’m glad. I can put my bonus in my 401k. The president of the organization’s salary, compensation and what not is not correlated to my job.

So glad we only get a bonus and no raise again this year. Makes me feel good knowing Bruce will be taken care of and his 401(k) will be looking better while our contributions from the company stay at 2017 rate

If the business model changed and your role isn’t needed, cutting his salary for a non role makes no sense, poster
