Let's see, by my astute calculations tomorrow is the last day of 2019. And as the title of this thread says "Boeing Layoffs 2019", it does not appear at the OP's prognostication is going to be correct.

There are rumors of layoffs at Boeing in El Segundo for 2019.

There are 3,823 engineers and technicians ages 55-59 and 1,702 ages 60 and up, according to SPEEA, the engineers’ union.
The numbers represent 29% and 27% of the total employment of the two professions who are 55 and older.
This means more than 1,700 will reach retirement age within next five years—a critical time when Boeing is beginning to ramp up its engineering work on the NMA, should the program be launched next year—which is when market intelligence suggests is the target date.
