Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Stock falling. When is the next lay off ?

Just a matter of time how many. No salary hike, no bonus, vacation policy change, all are coming very soon. Work like a skilled labor.

The company is already adjusting and adapting - re-org, low-cost hdd, hammr, ssd.

Very thought time ahead for Seagate. Declining demand for storage, more competition , burning cash all contributing.

A lot of ex-Seagators have jumped-ship to work at WD. I guess when Seagate no longer needs you, you just apply at WD. Sounds better than a job at Walmart.

Hey, cellular organism. Grow a brain.

STX stock is up 60% YTD (year to date). Everyone got a decent bonus, and many employees saw some focal increase.

You must work for WD. That stock is down over 40% YTD and the financal experts say y'all are in for a rough ride as solid state production begins to exceed demand.

How's that MAMR thingy coming along?

LOL.

Everytime someone says "MAMR", all I can picture is an old gramma with size 48DDD's hanging down to her waist. Who was the genius over there that decided to pay money for that copyright?

There was a small layoff in the US last Friday. I don't know how many were laid off at each site but I know some people in Longmont were, maybe 15?
