Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Start Up Cloud Accelerators Life Span

The Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator program was marched out as Oracle's way of reaching new innovators and the younger hipper crowd as a market to sell cloud services and platforms, but from what I hear the ROI on this is not good as startups are not going to pay those big cloud licenses when there are better, cheaper solutions around. Is RB on the way out?

I heard the EMEA accelerator program is really struggling despite all the trendy PR. Layoffs imminent, especially in the UK. As startups in the program still need to be in OPN so what's the point in this program? Looks like the winners here are Google, etc.

Same in the US?

O used to be cool... in the 80's and 90's! Now it's a legacy dinosaur like the mainframe.

Of all the places you could go as a start up, why would you ever go to anything associated with O? And why would you ever use any of O’s outdated tech?

If you use OCI, it will be hard for VCs to take you seriously. They will think something is wrong with you and run the other way.

The program was always a PR stunt.

The only real s---ers in that “program” are the execs they duped when they hired them to run it.

People rarely like to admit they’ve been duped, so this “program”’s leadership team will keep up appearances and prop it up for a bit.

But yeah, it’s a BS stunt that has no real viability.

I thought MH said that Oracle could deliver equivalent cloud services at a lower cost than AMZN and MSFT?
