Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

For managers only

As a manager, what are the methods Honeywell leadership has laid out for managers to use when trying to get rid of employees? For example, I have heard giving an unfair and very negative performance review has caused employees to leave on their own. Are there other techniques or is it left to your discretion?

Managers are looking for workers that appear to be happy to be at work. I mean zealous. Otherwise you are looking at a PIP.

Managers do what their managers tell them to do. Those managers do what their managers tell them to do on up the line. It all adds up to older US employees being shoved out the door. Easy peasy.

In satcom the new director did a re-org and closed the software managers and systems manager positions. After they were gone, a new position for the systems/software manager was created and she hired a new manager.

Managers aren't given any training or methods. Are you that dumb? What a lawsuit that would bring! Besides, the ALT is going a good job of getting rid of managers that don't like the new company direction.

lol. just go take the managers training modules online. they have such a hard time getting people to be a mgr it should be hard to find a position and learn first hand... then do nothing while you look for a better job elsewhere

Violation of company policy, such as spreading rumors on Social Media / Internet forums, is usually enough. Finding an employee as 'un-mutual' and triggering the big plastic bubble to chase after them and take them away also works well. Or, confer with them aside, buy the person coffee, and tell them, confidentially, you're not working out, and no one here really likes you, can also work to your favor.

The best move may be to simply ignore them. They'll become less important soon enough. If none of this rings true, consult the managers handbook, How to Deal with Trolls, Chapter 2.
