Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate technology

Allstate technology is notorious for moving slow on anything they do. In fact, one of Suren’s goals is to change this practice by instituting ways to expedite tasks.

With this in mind, I don’t see any major relocations happening any time soon. Sure, there may be small pockets of resources moving to the various locations, but the notion of moving all of Willow within a 2-year window is outright ludicrous.

The company really needs to know who this person is. As a current employee it scares me to think he might be sitting next to me. Sounds like a shooter, and the way he talks about his manager and fellow employees are threatening. This is not a normal disgruntled employee.

I heard all the major networks are fighting over this story, a guaranteed Pulitzer Prize winner. The movie studios are right behind, waiting for movie rights. Pee Wee Herman to play the insurance adjuster whistle blower.

Sounds like a really interesting story. I wonder why journalists aren’t all over this breaking news.

You id--ts on this board have no concept of "front line" (since we belittle work of veterans like I was with Allass military acronyms -- you truly amaze me and journalist from Chicago paper PLEASE reach out to me as a combat veteran and someone looking to leave this farce of corporate culture that deigns to use military terms for work).

Journalists : are you aware on every Allstate employee homepage you are asked to input your s-xual orientation.

Ask an employee journalists -- please.

I agree. And if I were the board and/or the chairman, I’d do the exact same thing. It’s a no brainer.

I am not sure the ERS strategy is limited to ATSV alone. HR, Corporate Relations, Marketing etc are also hiring elsewhere and relocating willing staff. Writing is on the wall for Northbrook/IL. West Plaza gone, Willow to be gone soon. Pretty much they will be left with the North tower or move the HQ to downtown with a skeleton crew. It may take a couple of years but likely to happen. HO now only has 5000 or so employees from a peak of 10000+

Home Office is comprised of a little bore than technology. You bring a myopic perspective to this site.

Willow Plaza is scheduled to close end of this year or Q1 2019. Large groups moving out of Willow this month. Hiring is almost at a standstill in Northbrook. In this very tight job market, Allstate is losing highly skilled labor at a high rate because of Suren's dumb ERS strategy. Tech Projects slowing down and going on hold and ATSV bleeding money. Good luck Northbrook employees - sooner or later you need to abandon the Allstate ship, before they do. Strike the job market while it is hot.

Holdouts may not get buyouts, they will just say move to Irving/Charlotte - your job is there and they hope and pray you don't move.

We were told in my office that digital claim file has been pushed out a year. Also, I still have tons of paper coming to my desk, along with an uptick of review image doc tasks. Wonder when we'll start getting gigged by the QA team on not marking those tasks complete fast enough!

What about "digital flle"? Is that fully up and running anywhere in the country? For workers to support the country from these 3 locatiions the paper has to stop coming into all the mco's doesnt it? We went to the central fax but paper has not slowed down in my office. Review image document tasks have gone up slightly

They're having a few issues locking down the numbers they need for the new locations.

Without that they can't get approval from HR.

They're also trying to calculate how much of "buyout" they will have to swallow. They have to time thing correctly like giving enough notice since distance of work location is over 50 miles.

Another , perhaps smaller factor - lot's of business units are moving to remote workers so the question are they want to relocate/close locations why can't they increase their remote working options.

Lot's of unanswered questions which is why it's taking so long.
