Humana is checking out contracting out for nursing needs to other companies!
They have been talking to several subcontractors for UM, SNP CM, SW and regular CM.
This is VERY reliable information...,been told by worker at a company who is in the running for the contract and she was shocked when saw it. Shes an assistant to the people in marketing so knows all the companies that are out there contract out positions

I was contacted by 3 individual subcontracting firms since last Thursday concerning a temp CHE position with Humana. No way that I am going back to work at Humana because they did us all wrong.
It is absolutely true that Humana is contracting out. They contracted out and let go of nearly our entire UM team. From talking to those I'm still in touch with, they got their severance, cashed out their PTO, and all got jobs that made their time with Humana feel like a prison sentence.
I haven't heard anything about FCM positions being contracted out. I only know that they were contracting out Care manager positions when I started looking for a new work at home job. I quickly got an offer from a subcontractor, but they wouldn't tell me who they were subcontracting for until I went through the interview process and accepted. Turned out to be humana. Facepalm. I bailed.
Does this apply to FCMs? I am hoping they aren't going to replace us with contract workers.
With the new contracts it would make sense they are contracting out work as we will need more in home support.
So it is time to go. How do I know that it will be any better elsewhere? As a nurse, I expect to work hard, put the mbrs first. But Humana doesn't seem to be fair to employees or mbrs. Sure they talk about all this wellness stuff, but their practices belie their words. Do any of you know what it is like to work for some of the other insurance companies that do work from home? BCBC? Anthem? United Health? Liberty Mutual? or Aetna? Others? What have you heard about working for them? Will it be more of the same?
Actually they are already doing it several areas.

No surprise to me. I have felt that the case management positions were headed that way for a long time now . So many other departments at Humana have been contracted out recently.
To the person with reliable info on contracting out. I can tell you.......it is not reliable information at all.
