Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

HR phone number

Hi:

I was laid off last October. My new employer needs a letter stating my termination date with Oracle. Where can I get such a letter from Oracle? What is the HR phone number?

Thanks.

Todd

In my severance packet, there was a number for Employment verification... www.theworknumber.com or 800-367-2884. Have you tried there?

And you'd jump through all those hoops to just end up in a hire and fire company, and wind up laid off a year or two later with no warning whatsoever (with most of the team you were hired into), and in many cases with just two weeks severance.

Many employers are demanding to see W2's before making an official offer, to verify time of employment and pay.

" I know it is not your fault but it is just out of control with these employers who are supposedly so desperate for hires."

It kind of shoots to hell the whole "there's no one to hire" narrative. I remember when there really was a shortage. You'd email a resume and someone would often contact you the same day and you'd be having the in house interview a few days later. No "hiring manager phone screen", no "homework assignment", and you'd have an offer a day or two after the interview. And for good reason, if they didn't move fast, someone else would snap you up.

Now you submit your resume and fill out a lengthy online application on some website ... and wait. 2-3 weeks later MAYBE someone calls you to schedule a phone screen with a hiring manager or a lead. Of course that person is super busy and can't talk with you for another week or so. So you survive the phone screen and weeks pass before the in house interview is scheduled. Then more weeks pass until you get an offer, and if you don't at most you might get an automated email saying that the position has been filled, and at worst you get radio silence.

Some shortage.

Ya know, getting a job these days is a series of one time wasting humiliation after another. Starting with horrid kill them all with fire ATS systems to having the employee prove he was separated from the company in the manner he says. Why doesn’t your new soon to be employer contact Oracle HR for that? Typically an HR dept will confirm dates of employment and last job title. Or at least they used to. I know it is not your fault but it is just out of control with these employers who are supposedly so desperate for hires.

If you haven’t already and you are in the US maybe start with the main general number from the contact page: 1.800.392.2999

Good Luck!

Just show them your offer letter copy or W2. Redact the numbers.
