Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

More layoffs this week at Molina?

This isn't specific to Florida, but there were definitely lay offs starting on Wednesday this week, at Corporate. No one has posted any details yet so I only know that Medicare Claims lost some folks and I believe Delegated Oversight. I'm hoping someone has a complete list or has more info. The smaller waves seem to go undetected and people start to think the lay offs have ceased but that isn't accurate.

Do we know if this is over with? Or can we expect more this week? Layoffs anywhere in the company always make me nervous...

You don't qualify for severance when you quit your job, broseph.. In any event, I know three people from my department that were downsized and one got severance, but was a far lower amount than those who were cut from Project Nickel last year.. the other two declined a severance offer primarily due to new rules that they had to commit to a non-compete agreement for two years and if they found a job within 60 days of being let go fully 1/2 of their severance would be payable back to the company - this is ridiculous in the face of such a small amount that was offered.. Molina might not have done away with severance entirely as others have indicated on this site, but I can say for one that it is definitely being reduced and seems to be designed to screw over parting employees while creating a wholly one-sided benefit to the company when people choose to opt out due to the restrictions enforced..

Did you two masterpiece creators get severance? I'm hearing conflicting info on the severance package. I hear it was done away with.

Same here....was let go over the phone by my manager. Couldn’t even tell me face to face- 10 yrs of service. I hadn’t been feeling well either- I also stopped by the men’s room and left a “dirty dozen”. Some of which exploded out of me! Looked like a plane wreck as I took my last steps out of there- hope those VPs down the hallway enjoyed it!

Totally the werst for sure.. I personally tendered my two weeks with a state plan recently and was called within 5 minutes by my "manager" whom told me outright that the company was no longer requiring two weeks notice and I was basically cut loose that same moment.. this was all done over the phone even though my "manager" has been down the hall from me for years.. was told to go ahead and just leave my cube, drop off my badge with reception and leave the building.. which I did, but not before leaving a "double decker" in the men's room.. s---ers.. enjoy the peanuts and corn you worthless excuse for an company..

@UibwBuJ-2upl Thanks...sad as that is. It's good to know. I know many people who are hanging in there, thinking they will be getting severance. Glad I'm not there. What a mess. The werst is right, bro.

I personally know 8 people laid off recently with no severance - they were personally called on by security to remove their personal belongings from their workstation and were escorted to the exit. No warning - no kiss 'goodbye'.. Molina is the werst, bro..

This is VERY helpful for a lot of Kool Aid drinkers. Thank you.

Have we heard from anyone who has been let go from Molina and not gotten severance or are people just speculating here?

It is totally legal if it the layoffs are

a) less than 50 people

b) a WARN act was issued 2 months prior if over 50 people are being let go

Severance is not something that they are obligated to give.

Really? Are you sure? Is this even legal? They can't do that to us. Why isn't HR stopping this?

Yup...only the high ups get any type of severance at this point. Don’t worry, Starbucks is always looking for baristas- and I’m headed there now for a latte! See ya there!!!

Really? No severance? Is that true? There's literally NO reason to stick around if that's true.
