This ship just keeps on tanking! The person who was responsible of the COP deal got a big promotion to the CLT when the new CEO came in. Those who spoke against the deal all got packaged out. What an amazing company!!

CVE is comprised only of small thinkers who when the going gets tough cling to c-appy oil sands strategies that plough infinite cash into pitiful netbacks.

If you think there is “one” person responsible for the COP deal, then you’re an id--t and it’s good you left CVE. Narrow minded small thinkers are better off elsewhere. There were several senior people who pushed the deal forward, including a BOD who approved it. Now the new CEO and CFO are trying to right the wrongs of several others.
Congrats! It is definitely a tough decision to make between cve compensation and work environment happiness. There are lots of jobs out there so don't fret. They may not pay as well, but guaranteed it will be a breath of fresh air where you will feel invigorated and empowered. I quit a few months ago and found myself working again soon after. It was surprising how much knowledge I had lost working at cve.
