Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Goals

It is that time of year when we are duty bound to submit our goals for the next year. All very exciting! I need to know what goals I should set that will impress the DXC management sufficiently to give me a bonus and a salary increase should I achieve them. I know that they are perfectionists, leaders in their field and my goals need to make me stand out from the crowd in order that gratitude and honor is bestowed upon me. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thing is, the good old USA has the country and working conditions it wants, why berate other contributors in other countries with better working conditions? If you want it to change maybe you could vote Democrat and at least start the journey to a better work life, but in your dog eat dog society where the shareholder and the Dollar is king It ain’t going to happen.

Damn right I'm waiting on a great package and you'd do the same too if your country's employment laws weren't so archaic. I'm just biding my time and doing the bare minimum of work until I get that big fat payoff. This company is in so much disarray that I don't even need to show up to the office and I still get paid. My manager is a total moron and is not even at the same site at which I work. He is such an idiot I can work him like a puppet. Looking forward to the day I can leave this sh@t hole but not before I get that payout.

F--- all you people waiting for "redundancy" , the poor s---ers in the US get a max of 8 weeks pay and that's it. Who ever is waiting for "redundancy" must have a great package.

A former manager said that Goals are just pure w@nk. Several years ago my manager asked me to provide justification as to why 1 of my co-workers should be WFR'd instead of me. They did not like my co-worker and fired the person with notice. My manager then went and hired several of his clueless mates as contractors and they were just useless at doing their jobs. Fortunately once my manager resigned then his clueless recruits were found out and literally driven out of the company when the client complained profusely. Karma at last!

Really don't give a sh-- about goals. Or timesheets. Or DXC, just waiting for the redundancy.

.....Its really no different than what CSC/Cloud used to be, except with automated tools to create VM's and storage .....

Have you been living in a cave for the last 10 years?

Whoever said "Outsourced IT is a dying industry. Get a job with a client." is an just crazy. Outsourced now is going to so called "Cloud" providers. Its really no different than what CSC/Cloud used to be, except with automated tools to create VM's and storage .

The only goal my manager seemed to be able to measure and care about was whether i'd submitted my timesheet in a timely manner.

@U0IQCi0-3ijc Not necessarily, although certainly a shrinking industry. You just need to provide your clients with value - a thing DXC don't do.

As I recall, your goals meant nothing in terms of a pay rise or bonus. What you need to do is to be a salesperson, an executive, or looking for another job.

Second to last thing I heard before leaving was that ANYONE can have a pay rise at ANY time... all you need to do is ask. Actual last thing I heard was that there would be NO pay increases for staff in 2018/19.

So glad to have been WFR'd from DXC. My new employer (an efficient company) does not require timesheets to be completed by anyone (which would cut 10% of DXC's beancounter workforce that is employed to check and recheck and recheck billing), provides milk in fridges and 2 fully stocked stationery cupboards (for DXC that is unnecessary cost), and actually cares for employees (DXC and ML don't care for anyone except ML and his cronies).

Compare DXC with what is out in the real world and wonder WTF are you still doing at DXC?

I totally agree with Post ID: -2gjv. One of the reasons I left CSC was no brain managers that basically had nothing but Excel spread sheets on their computers while they were asleep at their post drooling like Homer Simpson (true scenario, I witnessed it). This now called company DXC will fail, there is nothing surer. I really pity the poor buggers that actually need to be in this cesspool of a place. Mike Lawrie MUST be an idiot to let this fiasco slide the way it has. Sad times ahead......ah, sweet retirement from Sh1t!

Oh how I love the pointless waste of time to tick some boxes for my manager. His/her/"the other ones" goals are basically to make sure all of their staff make goals! I mean WTF? These managers do sweet FA all year then come out with some pseudo-b---s--- appraisal which has no relation to how well you are doing your job. The whole lot of them are complete imbeciles. Why do they even exist in the company!? I know other companies do this but it usually has a meaning i.e. wage rise/bonus. DXC is so f@cked up they go through the motions and pretend that everything is as it should be. The whole company is a catastraf@ck!

Usually DXC employees (aka Plebs of ML) find out their goals 6 months into the FPR period which means that all the quarterly evidence means SFA and it's so easy to fabricate achievements with a bunch of weasel words which nobody reads anyway. The whole goals process is a clusterf--k and a waste of time especially as ML is the only productive employee that receives pay rises and bonuses for doing f@ck all.

Goals what a JOKE. Promotions what a JOKE, Raises what a JOKE. I was such a s---er too all that corporate BS all my life. Wish I had health insurance when I graduated from college I would not of been s---ed into that awful corporate life as a slave to a bunch of overpaid, underworked narcissistic leaders who really don't give a damn about the employee. If you people have the chance to leave do so immediately. Do not be pinned down by some paycheck or insecurity. Escape now and let this company plunder into the abyss. DO IT. This company is one interconnected good ole boy network at the local level. Break out on your own. Compete with these boneheads in a smaller scale business or as a consultant.

Make sure you do your ETES on time.

Its the only goal the company actually seems to care about, anything else they don't care about.

I don’t envy you having to go through the annual pointless exercise. My sediments exactly why do we waste our time and the companies money on this pointless exercise. All my reviews in the past 5 years have been mostly above expectations and still no raise or bonus.

In order to impress the management you need to appropriately cloudify exceptional innovation together with assertively streamlining cloud-ready channels. You will benefit from dramatically actualizing open-source e-commerce that will synergistically transition efficient products and services. Try to interactively provide access to next-generation value within a competently scaled cloud-centric process improvement framework. If you professionally initiate focused technology that intrinsically restores extensive alignments then you should be fine.

I don’t envy you having to go through the annual pointless exercise. I’m glad you have retained your moral though.

Illegitimi non carborundum!

Good luck with it all, glad I’m out of there by the way.
