Not to mention Anthem also created their own outsource company in India. I wouldn’t be surprised if even clients that require their claims to be processed on shore will be processed in India in the near future. If Anthem owns their own off shore company, wouldn’t that mean that the claims would still be processed by their own employees. Sounds like they found a loophole.

I see the same thing in my office as well. It's sad that they exploit these people instead of investing in people nearby. I can't imagine moving thousands of miles away in order to make a living, but I might have to do that if this outsourcing trend continues. Most of the people in my area feel like it's just a matter of time until we are replaced by cheaper labor.
Anthem has really become a toxic place to work.
I see the Indian workforce they have hired to do American jobs. I work at the Norfolk Virginia location and there is a larger Indian staff there now than American staff. It is heartbreaking to see whole departments be let go and replaced by works purchased by Anthem for a green card and cheap wages. I hope to leave this company soon but until I do I have to train them to take more American jobs. It is hard to do and I do not want to be affiliated with a company that cares so little for Americans. We are on mandatory OT and the work inventory is low so I expect them to layoff many more very soon. Mandatory overtime to hurry up and layoff more employees.
It's infuriating, isn't it? Just after Anthem got their big tax break, they formed Legato and announced two locations being staffed in India at the end of 2017. Soon after, it was announced that we would be getting six people from Legato to join our team. The director chuckled and said "they tell me that they are just as good as us." A few months later, twelve associates from the division were given an rif notice. They send out a notice with position and age to avoid age discrimination lawsuits. They don't however, provide details on the employment status, race, s-x, nationality, etc of the individuals. I've yet to see an H1-B get laid off. And you can bet that since Anthem pays for green cards for individuals they want to convert and their family members, that they have too much invested there to let them go. Nope...it just impacts the loyal Americans whom they supposedly serve. Seems to be an annual event there now.
