Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Project Ice Age

I left the Ottawa office X months ago and just learned that the project I was working on is at the exact same spot it was X months ago with the same roadblocks. Think about how much shareholder value could be unlocked if competent leaders were managing resources and employee morale effectively.

That's because they can't keep anyone working on that mess. Honeywell is it's own worst enemy

If you're in Aerospace and now gone you can look up FAA TSO progress (certification) on programs that were in the works, planned and funded, etc. None of the programs that were in the works or planned have received full TSO since I left HW over 3 years ago.

Even if they do eventually get full TSOs, manufacturing will be a nightmare. That's why Boeing wants to design their own avionics...good luck.

This attitude is not confined to Ottawa. The lack of leadership competency and overall short sighthedness is how every business group is now run. Imagine if shareholders really knew what their shares could really be worth if the top level stopped being a slave to meaningless quarterly numbers and Wall Street and started acting like they really understood how to run their different businesses successfully. Honeywell exists to only profit those at the top. Everyone else, including shareholders, are merely a distraction while those at the top make their millions. Sad.

@1sla They'll freeze and top stop any remaining contributions to anyone left on the legacy pension plans. And change medical, disability and other plans to force employees to pay more and they can keep their cash. Don't you remember the survey last December? That should give you plenty of cash saving hints.

Paying at the end of the year does wonders for the cash flow numbers until then but now I wonder what stunt they will pull so that overall year numbers look good.

I think I am in the project that the op is referring too. So many highly skilled engineers have left over the last 18 months and there have been no changes. "Stick with us, and things will get better" was the message from the leadership. So what does Honeywell do? They now pay their RRSP contributions annually instead of biweekly. To "reward loyalty" they said. lol. Its not working. Another PM is going and almost certainly other senior engineers soon.

There is no leadership at Honeywell. Just a bunch of slaves, slave-drivers and powerpoint jocks. If you are not in the network with the 'leaders', you are screwed.

Honeywell requires 'leaders' with no conscience. How else would you look yourself in the mirror every morning when you are forced to give terrible reviews to older workers on trumped up allegations of poor performance.

Honeywell has zero interest in having competent leaders. In fact, Honeywell prefers braindead yes men who rubber stamp all the dipshit objectives and idiotic ideas.
