There does seem to be alot more risk around the avionics parts but it is an addiction/methodology that will continue into other areas...

Means the avionics manufacturing divisions will be sold off to suppliers which in turn will then take over just the design and sales of the components.

This is key to Honeywell's survival in the long run as well as Tim's goal to achieve from direction from DA and probably the board of directors.

It'll only be too soon when the mechanical divisions goes along this path. At first get the biggest costs out of the way and then move in for the smaller ones. Similiar stories have happened before bearing all the hallmarks of 'sites getting sold to improve business objectives and increasing value'. Whatever that means.

That mandatory training was a PR move to the stock holder gods, back to doing real work after that

@1ngr...i see you drank that kool-aid today. The only thing John, Carl and those other sh-- bags care about is making the biggest possible bonus. The only way to do that is the get rid of American jobs. All the Indians probably think John a real f---ing stand up guy.

I think the whole Honeywell free cash flow concept came from the Wimpy (Popeye ref) school of management, " I will gladly pay you Tuesday? for a Hamburger today"

At least John was being upbeat by saying we're going to try to cut red tape and consolidate tooling across groups. Biggest nightmare ever is the damn tools for every single group.

It has nothing to do with lowering cost, It all has to do with free cash flow, and the allusion of prosperity. if you only pay you suppliers (at a higher price) twice a year if at all, then you can sit on that cash and look really good to wall street. However if you build in house then you need to make payroll ever two weeks, resulting in a lower free (hoard of) cash flow and wall street hates you.

It's kind of like having you personal finances rated higher by how little you pay on your loans VS keeping a large pile of cash in you saving account.

In regards to keeping jobs in this country, I do not even think that was even an agenda item in the HIPAC campaign, though could be wrong.

Plexus sux big time. WAY too expensive for an Asian company, plus they don’t do well with small volumes. You’ll pay thru the nose with our small volumes. Also very painful to work with! Oh, by the way, our HON circuit card facility has PROOF that it is cheaper to build in house. Mother HON doesn’t care. What happened to keeping jobs in the US?

Plexus is a manufacture of electronic circuit cards that are installed in a number of honeywell avionics products. They and Celestica have been rumored to take over ISC functions at the plants in North America.
