Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Aerospace ETS Org

Anyone know what is going on with the ETS org? There seems to be a ton of people leaving that place. Director retiring, management leaving, and engineers running out the door.

Not sure if I should be concerned, might start looking for a other job?

In the local re-org meeting I asked the Engineering director about OT policy because the group I'm is now under his umbrella for project direction. (in the past our support group never got hit with the mandated 10% free OT.) Specifically about the 10% free OT that was mandated in the past among project engineering which I was not part of. He did not answer the question , but mentioned meeting milestones may require some extra effort is expected. Also he had his HR lady chime in about OT policy, but neither addressed the question directly.

ETS as an organization has not existed for a few years. The organization ceased to exist when orgs like ES were created. Even the last VP of ETS retired last year. It is quite puzzling why so many people still think ETS exists. What was ETS was redistributed into the 4 businesses within Aero with ES (where that director who is about to retire resides) being one of them.

Just pray to God a certain senior technical manager in Clearwater doesn't take his place. If she does everyone is doomed to an even more hellish existence!

I don't see what all the fuss is about. Just go to the CATE website and pick out the parts you need, After all, the Domain Leads will bend over backwards to help you meet you schedule and budget goals. They are famous for being helpful and experienced in all aspects of testing.

Dxy is right. There IS no ETS organization. Expect breakup to continue with as many people being pushed to project work as possible. Low revenue products will be terminated (<10M called the long tail by Darius) If you design hardware, build hardware, test hardware, or track the progress of hardware move now. No investment in traditional markets . Everything is small tweaks and cloud based services. Specific strategy to buy not build. Couple this with electric aircraft and you must get a new skill. I have heard that ETS will become a division within the engineering teams. Not sure how many from ETS they will actually keep though. It's been a fun ride ladies and gentlemen, but it all seems about over now.

UTAS just announced big hiring in the USA. Raytheon has non-exportable jobs, good options out there.

About time he retires. They really don’t want ETS in the US. The guys upstairs believe you can just buy test equipment from Walmart or have the “worlds greatest engineers” in Indier design it and have Mexico build it. Ask the systems engineers how well that works. Find another job/company.
