No such thing as lateral illustrates your lack of brains the point is moving jobs equal pay because relocated is costly because of selling purchasing homes bridge mortgages changes in cost of living by region sudden demand on housing in area for relocated jobs. I can’t believe some of the people who post here actually work as financial fiduciaries but then maybe you are an HR employee or some other job that requires no money sense and is supported by those of us who do.

You “know” the truth what are you omniscient? Why do people think conworkers potentially losing jobs they’ve worked whole life for is somehow a good thing. Don’t go away mad just go away.

I appreciate the sarcasm about the benefits! Lol. It’s one of the biggest complaints among my co-workers. I hope once we get laid off that they seriously consider changes on that for the remaining people. As for my job being eliminated, I’m not surprised. Allstate used to be such an employee friendly place. Now we are just numbers.

I have no idea what the babble “no such thing as a lateral” even means. Yes, I know first hand of thousands of re-lo’s in my career, and I can’t think of any that have lost their jobs. And no, they don’t always go out of fear....an exodus as you put it. Most moved for better career opportunities, or if it was a lateral, in anticipation of future opportunities.

I don’t work in HO, and don’t “defend” every decision. I only weigh in when I see stupid statements with no basis in fact, and I actually know the facts.

I commented about great health benefits for stress thinking sarcasm would come thru sorry —- it was meant to ooze sarcasm. It has nothing to do with med econ and shifted costs from health exchanges its corporate greed. They’re are retailers and big box stores with better health plans and in b4 go work there I like my career at Allstate but unlike koolaid drinkers I don’t think my employer makes infalliable decisions like the people from home office who monitor this board and defend every single move that’s made as being for anything but shareholder value.

“1000s” of people relocated—then did they lose their jobs then? That’s called an exodus and again no such thing as a lateral there should be a economics test not literacy for apologists to post here.

To the people who attack others for not being able to relocate and have a family that supports moving 1 you must be higher up in bloated Allstate pyramid because other 99% us have a working spouse so up and moving isn’t a “wonderful adventure” 2 hope your screwed up kids enjoy constantly losing friends 3 you call or mom and dad once a year so hey what’s real 4 your dedication to a company that will lay you off with no notice is misplaced idiocy. After your five moves when you ARE let go by Allstate I’d to see expression on your face it would be priceless. But hey, at end of your life you can look back and celebrate your awesome sense of priorities in life.

Yes, very rare. Do you want to know how many employees re-located last year ? Over the past 5 years ? The number is in the thousands, so yes, I’m very rare. My family is well adjusted and would advocate for trying new and different experiences......their better for those experiences. We have friends all over the country now, not just in the burg or neighborhood we grew up In.

Sorry if you can’t leave your mommy or high school friends, but there’s a lot more to this world than your hometown. Grow a set.

No thought to spouses jobs, kid, mortgages, fact that a lateral doesn't exist anymore cross country move costs you money. At least the company provides a great health plan to cover my stress.... I love the HO trolls on this board that try to frame people losing jobs as good for THEM and has nothing to do with shareholders. don't forget some jobs going to GENPACT too India, Allstate India whatever they call it and just the beginning of a trend I bet.
