Nothing to do with age, cost of health care (to the company) or tenure. Everything to do with lease/real estate costs and ability to scale operations and hire. I was in the room for many of these discussions, and we spent significant time discussing strategies for recruiting insurance experience, and retaining tenured employees. No conversations about the health costs of tenured employees (%%?????). Zero.

You all do realize , every single thing they have been doing last three years is to push out older employees. Allstate has the absolute worst healthcare coverage now. Far worse than anyone in the industry. You pay up to 5k for health insurance, but you can not use it, not until you pay your 4k or 6k deductible. This mostly effects the older employees who paid for insured for years and never needed it until now. Most new hires don't really have a need for health insurance. Allstate hope is the older higher salary tenured employees do to lack of healthcare coverage will leave. Same as these centers they build. They are well aware most people can not relocate, so they hire new people with no knowledge at a much lower salary. Last three they hired at our MCO only prior experience was working at a cell phone store. If you want a career, Do NOT apply at Allstate, they want 5 or six year employees. They do not want career employees. If want in the insurance industry . Allstate will hire you with ZERO insurance experience, just give them a big song and dance about how you excel in customer service. After your first year, do what many do. Walk down the street and apply at Allstates competitors now that your have gained a little experience. Do not waste your time thinking you will have a career at Allstate. Remember at Allstate you are just a number. If they can replace you with cheaper labor. They will and always do.

Only 19 jobs for processor nation wide are available. A package move for 20k is offer for processors in california as they are double impacted bcs their mco's face extinction.

Processors have been told to apply for dbo office in Tempe or Irving or NC.

As job processors will be centralized.

What's the word on how many in CA are taking the move? That's a lot of adjusters to move I would think maybe the SoCal adjusters might go but not sure about NorCal being farther away. Any word on office leases and when they are up across the state in CA?

Total loss adjusters will go too. For California all claims adjuster positions that aren’t field, agent advocates and lit adjusters are going to Chandler to handle California. That was communicated to us Monday. So on top of the processors being centralized countrywide we are dealing with all of California claims being moved.

Our email said the new building in Chandler is not temporary. It’s a building Allstate bought. Maybe they’ll add on to it for more employees.

The building that will house 2000 is temporary, while they build out a facility that will hold up to 6000 employees.

Confirmed processors country wide will be centralized to NC TX and AZ. Good hands repair processing will be handled in India. This transition starts in CA June 10.

Also the Cal Desert office will be in the new Allstate building in Chandler Arizona with the 2nd MCO (Camelback) All California claims positions that aren’t face to face with customers are being moved to the Chandler office. Which can house up to 2000 employees. Once Camelback is staffed a 3rd MCO will open in that building.

Ok, total loss processor. S---s if you’re in the role, but they’re been working on that (with the medical input processing being outsourced to a vendor) for a couple of years. Most of our competitors have had that job centralized for years. Doesn’t make it any easier if you’re in that role.

This effects processor roles in total loss. Also processors in casualty departments.
