Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

SNP

Why won't they hire people!? What can we do about the rosters, no coverage, and continued loss of employees due to lack of adequate management decisions? Someone please shed some light!

As someone who left Humana for employment elsewhere within the last 6 months, their hiring and laying off practices are well-known. I feel horrible for those left to pick up the slack, but I do not know of any nurses who would even consider applying for a position with them if they start becoming available. And before I am attacked for even commenting here, the main reason that I did is to let people know that there is life after Humana. If you are miserable-look around. No job is perfect, but there are good WFH positions out there. As much as I no longer felt valued or supported by Humana when I left, I am grateful for the opportunity and hope that things turn around and it becomes more like it was when I had started. Good luck to everyone!

How does everyone cope with the ODs? If we are working consistently, meeting metrics, and can prove that in verint, but still have ODs.. do you just put that on mgmt for not having enough employees?

HCCP is not promoting or offering OT volunteers. Impossible to get rosters caught up to MOC guidelines. I would welcome a week of OT. Tired of seeing red overdue on my roster.

Happy for anyone who is happy there- but last 3 years has been rapid cycle hiring and laying- off. Maybe the word is out- it's a career gamble.

The overtime is great, I think the company is in a good place. No complaints.

They ask for OT and weekend volunteers. They need to just bite the bullet and either stop enrollment until it settles or hire ppl asap.

Who wants to work for company who likes to lay off? Most people I know wouldn’t work for a company who hire and lay off at the same time.

It takes time to hire. It’s in the works. Quality candidates who can handle working independently are difficult to find.
